Last updated 29 September 2026. These terms apply to your use of this website and to FCPX Headstart, the Mac app.

1. Seller and contact

Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC), which acts as merchant of record: it takes the payment, calculates and collects taxes, issues the invoice and receipt, and handles payment questions. Its buyer terms apply to the payment. We are the licensor of the app.

2. The product

FCPX Headstart is a downloadable app for macOS that turns raw interview footage into a story-ordered rough cut and exports it to Final Cut Pro. It is digital software: nothing is shipped. It needs a Mac and Final Cut Pro. Apple Silicon is recommended, because the local transcription model is compute intensive.

3. Price and payment

The license costs 59 USD as a one-time payment (launch price, list price 79 USD), with no subscription. Prices are shown in your local currency at checkout where available, with any applicable tax included or added at checkout before you pay. You may need your own account with an AI provider if you choose API mode, which is charged separately by that provider.

4. Delivery

After payment, Lemon Squeezy emails you the license key and a link to the receipt and your order page. You download the app from this website. Enter the key in the app to activate it.

5. Free trial

You can use the app free for 7 days after first launch, without giving payment details. After the trial the app requires a license key to start projects, send to Final Cut Pro and export. Your existing projects stay open.

6. License

A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the app on up to two of your own Macs, and all updates within the 1.x version line. A later major version may be sold separately. You may not resell, share or redistribute your license key or the app. You can free an activation in the app to move the license to another Mac. We may end a license that is used against these terms, for example a shared key, or one whose payment was refunded or reversed by chargeback.

7. Your footage and AI services

The app reads your media in place and transcribes it on your device. If you choose API mode you supply your own key, and transcript text is sent to that provider under your agreement with them. You are responsible for having the rights to the footage you process. See the privacy page for details.

8. Money-back guarantee, withdrawal and refunds

You get a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy for any reason within 14 days of purchase, email hello@fcpx-headstart.com with your order email and we will refund the full price. The refund goes back to your original payment method through Lemon Squeezy, and the license key is then deactivated. The free trial lets you test the app before you buy.

The guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights, which are not affected. If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal, which ends once the digital content is made available with your prior express consent and your acknowledgment that you lose the right. Lemon Squeezy asks for this at checkout. Because of the guarantee, we will refund you within 14 days even if that right has ended. Lemon Squeezy may also issue refunds under its own terms.

9. Support and updates

Write to hello@fcpx-headstart.com for help with installation, activation or your order. We publish updates and fixes within the 1.x line and may change features over time.

10. Warranty and liability

The app is provided as is. Always check the result in Final Cut Pro before delivering work. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights, including under the EU rules on digital content.

11. No affiliation

This product is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. Final Cut Pro and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version on this page applies to new purchases, and changes do not reduce rights you already have. Danish law applies, and consumers keep the mandatory protection of the country where they live.
